Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the President you will ‘own’ and manage Alliances, Analysts, Product Marketing, MarCom, Events and Lead Generation with a focus on branding. Based on your successful track record and seasoned professionalism, your mandate is to deliver:


 
Branding & Marketing Plan: You will establish the gorilla brand in the specific market in the US and worldwide by developing and executing a comprehensive marketing plan including processes for the analysis, management and reporting of results. You will create a unique style and tagline for the brand.  
 

Product Marketing: Based on your up to the minute market intelligence on market trends, current and future customer requirements, competitor activities, pricing, products, sales and distribution strategies, you will work closely with R&D and Sales to ensure competitive product and market positioning and product pricing.

 
 
Alliances: You will target, negotiate, close, troubleshoot and support market, product and technology alliances with brand-name partners, opinion leaders and influencers worldwide, based on your in-depth knowledge of the major actors in the market. You will define and develop a solution provider program and channel agreements with web distribution partners, VARS and System Integrators that will position the company as market leader. You will build channel programs to rapidly get channel partners on board and productive. You will create alliance marketing and alliance knowledge transfer opportunities, monitor partner performance and make appropriate changes and modifications.  
 
Analysts: You will cultivate relationships with leading industry analysts so that they will write research reports about the company and actively refer its solutions to clients and members of the press.  
 
Marcom: You will build on and leverage your relationships with the leading press. You will manage, inspire and coach your Marcom Specialist to generate leads through: a high performance press machine, international industry analysts, a super sticky corporate web site, beta programs, e-mail broadcasts, digital marketing collaterals and targeted trade shows.  
 
Events: You will capture mind share with special events such as Customer City Seminars, an Annual Userís Conference and press launches in unique venues.  

 

Qualifications

You are a seasoned marketing professional with strong business sense and a make it happen yesterday mentality. Your 8-10 years of successful marketing experience with a brand name packaged software, networking or telecommunications equipment company, known to US investors, shows that you:

 
Are a natural leader who uses a balance of logic and persuasion to get results and dedication from colleagues who don’t report to you.
 
 
Are a people magnet, alliance partners love to do deals with you.  
 
Have created a unique style and brand from scratch .
 
 
Have built and executed a professional marketing plan.
 
 
Have delivered channel, product and technology alliances.
 
 
Deliver results in terms of branding, market penetration, and product line profitability.
 
 
Have created a high speed silicon valley type culture.  
 
Have leveraged the marketing potential of analysts, press, tradeshows and websites.  
 
Need only a cell phone and a laptop to work effectively from anywhere in the world.  
 
Use only digital marketing collaterals such as PowerPoint presentations, customer case studies, ebrochures, press releases and website content.
 
 
Practice viral and end run marketing at highspeed as you know that time to mind share is more important in today’s highspeed world than time to market & that marketing is not just a battle of products but a battle of perception.
 

Constantly focused on learning, you work at high speed, make decisions quickly and challenge your President on product positioning issues. You are always thinking in the background and planning the next step. As a people person, you are recognized for your ability to build relationships based on trust with customers, alliance partners and colleagues. Knowledge of French or another language would be an asset.
